Janet Kunnecke's Peanut Butter Cake


(I remember this cake, so good!)




3 cups sugar
1 cup butter, soft
1 1/2 cups peanut butter
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 1/4 cup buttermilk
3 cups cake flour
4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

cream sugar and butter.  Add peanut butter and beat.  Add egg one at a time. 
Sift and measure flour, then resift with baking powder and salt.
Add milk and buttermilk alternating with flour mixture.

Bake for 45-50 minutes


  • Frosting 
    (my original notes don't make any sense so I took a recipe off the net)
  • 1/2 cup butter
    2/3 cups creamy peanut butter
    6 tablespoons milk
    2 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • Combine the butter, peanut butter, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Add the powdered sugar and mix well. let the frosting cool for a few minutes, then add vanilla. The frosting will be thick, mix well. Pour over cake while both are still warm. Let cool, then serve.
