Preheat oven to 350 degrees

1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
extra powdered sugar
Beat butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar and beat again. Add egg and almond extract and combine well.
Stir together the flour and the pecans. Stir into butter and sugar mixture.
Shape into walnut-sized balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 15- 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven, place on paper towel and immediately sprinkle with powdered sugar.
