  Indian Dal Fry in Instant Pot

This recipe is a work in progress. Each time I cook I'll add more details. 

Start with heating olive oil in the instant pot. Then add cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and saute for a couple minutes. I sprinkled in garlic granules; then, add chopped 1/2 of an onion and cook for 2-3 minutes. Lightly brown the onions, then add chopped tomatoes and turmeric. Add 1 cup toor dal and water.  


 Set on high pressure and cook for 15-20 minutes with natural pressure release.
